Meet the 2026 Technology Pioneers shaping AI, energy, space and the next frontier
The World Economic Forum’s 2026 Technology Pioneers highlight another side of the global entrepreneurship landscape: the companies working at the frontier of AI, energy, space, robotics, quantum computing, biotechnology, and healthcare. This year’s cohort includes 100 early-stage companies from 23 countries, reflecting the increasingly international nature of deep-tech entrepreneurship.
The cohort includes nine companies from India, five working in AI and quantum computing from South Korea, as well as companies from the Middle East, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. The companies are tackling challenges ranging from nuclear fusion and energy infrastructure to lunar resource extraction, financial inclusion, and neurosurgical robotics.
The article also offers an interesting look at who is building these ventures. Many of the founders are scientists and researchers commercializing years of laboratory work, while others are repeat entrepreneurs building on previous ventures. Together, the companies illustrate how advances in technology, capital, and entrepreneurial ecosystems are expanding where and how frontier ventures are created.
