Prof. Jorma Larimo (University of Vaasa, Finland) passed away suddenly on January 3. This is a great loss for the IE community. In words of his colleague and IE-Ambassador for Finland & Sweden, Dr. Lasse Torkkeli:
While Jorma’s main focus in publications was more on MNEs and FDI, he did venture also to IE every now and then; and more importantly, he was a central figure in the rise of the IE scholarly community in Finland during these past two decades – be it organizing IE/IB doctoral tutorials, helping fund IE-focused doctoral research in Finland (including my PhD research in 2011-2013), welcoming IE scholars and track to his bi-annual Vaasa IB conference, and in many other ways.
