Question: What are your key areas of research?
Cristina Stoian: My key areas of research are international entrepreneurship and more broadly the internationalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Over the years, I have been studying SME internationalisation considering different foreign market entry modes, embracing multiple research designs and various theoretical perspectives. A key stream of research I have been working on is SME internationalisation beyond exporting, through high-commitment foreign market entry modes. Another refers to changes in foreign market entry modes that SMEs embark on over time. Besides this, I am also interested in the growth strategies of international new ventures.
Question: What are you currently working on?
Cristina Stoian: I am working on several research projects involving different datasets and international contexts, most of which investigate SME internationalisation. I am also conducting research on sustainable development in international settings with a particular emphasis on small entrepreneurial firms and the international stakeholders that may influence their activity.
Question: What are a few of your hobbies or interests?
Cristina Stoian: I enjoy arts, sports and spending time outdoors.
