JMS/JWB Paper Development Workshop in EIBA Conference

The Journal of Management Studies (JMS) and Journal of World Business (JWB) are collaborating to host a joint paper development workshop during the 2019 European International Business Academy (EIBA) conference (https://eiba2019.eiba.org/) at the University of Leeds.

Submission Deadline: September 2, 2019

About the Workshop

The purpose of the PDW is to provide developmental feedback to scholars and doctoral students on research projects that are at relatively advanced stages of development and encourage them to further develop quality research papers on issues that are of relevance to JMS, JWB, and other high-quality management and international business journal outlets. (IE-Scholars Editor Note: IE-oriented submissions are welcome.)

The workshop will be led by the Journal of Management Studies and Journal of World Business senior editorial teams: JMS General Editor Igor Filatotchev, JMS Senior Associate Editor Jonathan Doh, and JWB Editor-in-Chief Ajai Gaur, along with other established scholars from JMS’s and JWB’s editorial team. The workshop will include presentations by senior scholars on publishing strategies and techniques and in-depth feedback on selected papers

The PDW will be structured to provide extensive feedback to authors whose research papers have been accepted by the workshop organizers. Only a limited number of manuscripts will be accepted for the PDW. Participants will be invited based on the quality and potential intellectual contribution of their submitted work.

Submission Instructions

We encourage authors to submit their original work under two categories: full-length papers (maximum of 10,000 words) and “idea” papers (maximum of 2,000 words). Papers previously submitted to JMS, JWB or other journals, that were not successful in the review process, are welcome for the PDW. We can accommodate up to about 20 papers for this event. Please submit your papers to JWB managing editor Michaela Correa at JWB@business.rutgers.edu.

Each applicant can submit only one paper, but you may submit the same (or another) version of the paper for presentation at the EIBA 2019 Conference.  Your cover page should include all the author names, emails and affiliations.

You will be notified about the acceptance of your submission by 15 September, and will need to confirm participation by 15 October, which is the early-bird registration deadline for the conference.  All participants must register for the EIBA 2019 conference before they confirm their attendance at the JMS/JWB PDW. The JIBS-PDW starts early in the morning of 13 December, with the conference starting that afternoon.  Participants should plan to arrive in Leeds on Thursday, December 12, the evening before.
